Checkmate is a chess alarm app. This policy describes what the app collects, why, and who receives it. The contact email is the developer email shown on the Checkmate listing in Google Play.
Alarm times, puzzle progress, your chosen name, avatar, theme, and whether a premium subscription is active are stored on the device. Alarm times are not sent to us.
The app signs you in with Firebase Authentication. Until you choose Google, that sign-in is anonymous and uses a Firebase user ID. If you continue with Google, we receive the name and email address from that Google account, and the same Firebase user ID is linked to it. Sign-out returns the app to an anonymous ID.
If you finish an alarm workout, the app can save your display name, avatar, chess rating, and daily score in Google Cloud Firestore so the leaderboard can show them. A feedback note is saved with your display name, Firebase user ID, the text you wrote, and the time it was sent. Puzzle positions are downloaded from Firestore. Those requests use your Firebase sign-in and do not include your alarm times.
Unless you have an active premium subscription, the app shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may receive your device’s advertising ID, IP address, and approximate device information, and may use that to show and measure ads. Premium turns those ads off.
Subscriptions are processed by Google Play. Checkmate does not receive your card number or billing address. Google Play tells the app whether the subscription is active.
We use Google Firebase for sign-in, the leaderboard, puzzles, and feedback. We use Google AdMob for advertising. We use Google Play for app distribution and subscription purchases. We do not sell your information.
Checkmate is not directed at children under 13.
Uninstalling the app removes the information stored only on the phone. To delete the account, leaderboard entry, and feedback stored for you, follow the steps at https://chess-alarm-fcd0d.web.app/delete-account.
